It can be challenging finding a trustworthy trainer because dog training is still a young and unregulated industry with no education or certification requirements.

Founder of Mark Treat Repeat, based in Dallas, TX

I am a formerly certified CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed, 2020-2024), positive reinforcement, clicker trainer in the Dallas, TX area.

I firmly believe that the bond between humans and their pets should be a partnership built on empathy and respect. My goal is to help you better understand your dog’s needs and create a strong, cooperative relationship with your canine companion. Using science-based, positive reinforcement methods, I provide effective and efficient training that not only teaches your dog but also deepens the connection you share.

My career in animal behavior began at a doggy daycare owned and operated by two trainers. During my years at the daycare, I gained thousands of hours observing dog body language and interactions during play, while also handling a wide variety of breeds and ages. As a Kennel Manager and Trainer Consultant, I oversaw daily operations at a high-volume kennel and served as the leading trainer across all five locations. My experience is grounded in countless hours of consulting with families and working hands-on with a wide range of canines.

Committed to continued education, Lauren regularly attends behavior seminars and conferences, workshops and online learning. She has attended the world-renowned Chicken Camp taught by Terry Ryan as well as Patricia McConnell, Suzanne Clothier, Pat Miller and Sue Sternberg workshops.

Formerly Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA)

I held my professional certification with the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT) from 2020-2024. The certification signifies a professional trainer was able to pass an exam testing their knowledge of learning theory, instruction, ethology, training equipment and animal husbandry, as well as

While I respect the certification as the minimum knowledge a trainer should have, unfortunately, changes within the organization do not align with my personal values and professional principles, and therefore, I no longer support their efforts and chose to not renew my certification.

Hands on experience

I began my career working as a kennel tech with daycare dogs at a training facility in Austin. Working my way up to mentoring other burgeoning trainers and managing a high volume kennel, I had the good fortune of observing and working with a wide variety of companion dogs and behaviors. Before relocating to Dallas, I had over 12,000 hours of observation and guided study of canine training and behavior.

Science-based, positive reinforcement methods

Changing behavior is a responsibility to be taken seriously. I am committed to using modern, science-based training techniques in order to address your dog’s behavior challenges. I am passionate about creating a positive learning experience for both my clients and their companions, achieving real results using only humane training methods that do not cause fear or pain.
